Climate Generation is proud to partner with Room & Board to elevate our joint goals to take bold action to directly impact climate change and advance educational solutions.

“We are excited about our sustainability partnership with Room & Board!” said Nicole Rom, Executive Director at Climate Generation. “They are a true sustainability leader in the private sector and we applaud their commitment to partner with local, community-based organizations advancing solutions to climate change.”

The partnership is anchored by the launch of Climate Generation’s discussion guide and educational support for the film After Antarctica, following polar explorer and Climate Generation founder Will Steger’s life journey as an eyewitness to the greatest changes to the polar regions of our planet. The After Antarctica discussion guide will act as a tactical, scalable resource to tackle climate mis- and disinformation both inside and outside the classroom across the country.

“As an educator and eyewitness to climate change, as well as a woodworker and designer, I was drawn to Room & Board’s commitment to high quality design and sustainably-sourced materials and business model for being part of the solution to climate change,” said Will Steger. “They live their values and their products reflect it.”

Room & Board has been a leader in modern and sustainable furniture since 1980, dedicating itself to creating lasting products through design, materials and U.S. craftsmanship. Thanks to their commitment to trend-proof design and enduring quality, Room & Board furnishings sustain over time, helping combat the nearly 10,000 tons of furniture that goes to landfills annually.

“We’re excited to partner with Climate Generation,” said Nancy Greatrix, Chief People Officer at Room & Board. “We believe we all have a role to play in protecting the one planet we share, and we especially appreciate Climate Generation’s focus on equitable solutions to climate change that consider economic, social and racial disparities in our communities.”

Climate Generation: A Will Steger Legacy began as an official climate change organization since 2006, springing from the eyewitness experience of internationally renowned explorer Will Steger as he observed the deterioration of the polar ice caps, the warming of the planet and the adverse impacts this has on our planet, our health, and the future of all species. Climate Generation uses the levers of education, youth leadership, and partnership to engage people in equitable solutions to the climate crisis.

Climate Generation’s goals in the coming year are to continue our cutting edge work with educators, formal and informal, youth and communities far and wide.
