Sarah joined Climate Generation as Youth and Policy Manager in January 2018 to lead our policy campaigns, workforce development initiatives, and integrate our robust youth engagement across programs. She brings more than a decade of experience with environmental nonprofits and government agencies supporting sustainable communities through research-based, community-driven education and policy change. She developed strength in climate policy through many roles with environmental nonprofits, most recently with the Center for Earth, Energy and Democracy, and has built community capacity around equity and sustainability initiatives at various levels of government. Sarah attended Scripps College in California, served as a Peace Corps volunteer for sustainable agriculture in Ecuador, and came home to study Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs. She has served on the board of local organizations including Centro Campesino, Midtown Farmers Market, Women’s Environmental Network, and was selected to the Environmental Justice Advisory Group to the MPCA. A lifelong Minnesotan, she is thrilled to work with our strong advocacy community to support the role of youth in shaping equitable climate policies that will define our collective future.
