Daniela is a first generation Peruvian-American who grew up in the suburbs of Minneapolis, and from a young age has been connecting with the land and water in Northern Minnesota at every possible chance. Deeply impacted by her trips to Peru, Daniela has lived experiences in the way that foreign extractivism and exploitation has impacted the land and our land’s caretakers. Recently graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BA in Political Science and Global Studies, Daniela is excited to bring together her formal education and real-world experience with organizing around the intersections of climate change and anti-racism to the Climate Generation team. Daniela loves to eat pickles, roll down hills, and buy things she doesn’t need from the thrift store.
