Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Talk Climate Institute in 2021 will be completely virtual! On-screen time will be segmented with self care opportunities and off-screen breaks throughout the program to alleviate fatigue.

One of the most important ways to take action on climate change is to talk about it. Yet, two-thirds of people say they never do, despite the fact that the majority of Americans are concerned about climate change.

Talk Climate will offer a progression of reflective interactive activities through individual writing, work in pairs, and small groups to support an atmosphere of community connectedness and trust. For this reason, we ask that you are prepared to be present and participate fully on both days of the Talk Climate Institute.

Technology Needs

We require each participant to have a computer with access to the internet, microphone, and camera. We will also have the option to use smartphone apps for certain sessions. Pre-Institute tutorials and training sessions on how to use virtual platforms will be available.

If you have concerns about using Zoom or feel that it will prevent your participation in the Institute, please message us at

We are committed to making this training inclusive and accessible to all. Scholarship priority is given to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color applicants. Please apply for the scholarship prior to filling out the event registration. Apply now!
