The Youth Climate Justice Summit is a day of youth action, learning, and a chance to directly participate in government.
Join workshops led by youth and partners in the movement for climate justice. Meet with MN legislators that represent your district to talk with them about what matters to you. Join the YEA! Network campaign for climate justice education, learn about how you can help stop the Line 3 tarsands pipeline, and more. Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to attend the whole event?
No! We would love for you to attend as much as possible, but join us whenever you are able. If you cannot attend a legislator meeting sometime 11am-3pm, let us know in your registration so we don’t book a meeting for you.
What apps / software will I need to participate?
We will use Zoom, Slack, Sched, and Google Docs/Slides for this event. Trainings and drop-in hours will be available prior to the Summit if they are new for you. If you anticipate struggles with these apps, let us know when you register.
Will we meet legislators on video?
Yes! By now, legislators are used to virtual government. They’re happy to connect with the people they represent through video calls. When you register, we will arrange your meeting with your legislator and other students in your area. Please note any scheduling restrictions and we will try to accommodate.
Are youth outside Minnesota invited?
Yes! Some of the workshops will focus on MN climate justice solutions, but youth can decide which workshops they attend. If you register from outside MN, we will not schedule legislator meetings for you.
