Based in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, Climate Generation strategically engages and empowers youth, educators, decision-makers and the public to foster climate literacy and action with the goal of building a more equitable and resilient future for all.

Position Description:
The Annual Fund Manager is a critical position for Climate Generation providing development operations support for all aspects of resource development and revenue building efforts and managing a portfolio of individual donors giving under $1,000 annually. This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytical competencies in managing a sophisticated database, keen attention to detail, and outstanding organizational and problem solving skills in a fast paced and open office environment. The position requires being able to multitask and handle a wide array of responsibilities on any given day. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, at least intermediate knowledge and usage of Raiser’s Edge for gift entry and report generation; and willing to maintain virtual/in-person hybrid hours with one or two night and weekend events throughout the year. Travel is possible at times. Reports to the Senior Director of Development, Marketing and Communications

Your Department Team:
The Annual Fund Manager will work with a team of 2 other managers in a strategic, collaborative, and creative partnership environment. Members of the team include the Senior Director of Development, Marketing and Communications, the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Grants Manager and a Communications Coordinator.

Essential Responsibilities:

The primary function of this position is to support the resource development functions and operations of Climate Generation through maintaining and managing the Raiser’s Edge database and providing reporting, stewardship, solicitation and cultivation support for effective fundraising. This position plays a key role in meeting annual fundraising goals.

Development

  • Manages maintenance of Raiser’s Edge database, ensures integrity of data input, output, gift processing, and reconciliation with finance.
  • Leads donor stewardship, cultivation and relationship plans and management.
  • Generates written content for all e-appeals and mail appeals.
  • Processes all acknowledgements.
  • Develops and maintains a gift process that includes timely acknowledgment of donations.
  • Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly and semi-annual fundraising reports, analytics and metrics for leadership team, Development Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Attends Board Development Committee meetings, providing notes and reports as
    needed.
  • Interfaces with Communications and Marketing Manager on appeals, including timeline, donor data, lists management, and mailings.
  • Ensures that the development team is prepared for donor visits with materials and other items as requested.
  • Carries the portfolio of donors giving at the $1000 level and below through implementation of the stewardship plan, consistent solicitation and donor acquisition.
  • Develops constituent lists for communications and solicitation needs of Climate Generation.
  • Coordinates meeting times and spaces for the Dev/Comms team.
  • Participates in cross-functional activities with sponsorship, programs and fundraising as needed.
  • Provides weekly/monthly/annual financial gift reporting to the Senior Director of Development, Marketing and Communications and Senior Finance Manager (as needed) with accuracy and attention to detail, including logging and preparing checks for deposit and coding development invoices for payment.
  • Ensure gifts reported in Raiser’s Edge database balance with financial records.
  • Receives, enters and manages all donations.

Meetings and Events

  • Assist with planning and support for all fundraising events.
  • Coordinates volunteer needs for development events and activities and works with Program Coordinator as needed to fill volunteer positions and conduct volunteer appreciation.

Organizational Engagement

  • Engage in Climate Generation team functions, including events, team meetings, and strategic planning.
  • Use internal communication tools effectively for strong team collaboration (Google Drive, Slack, Zoom, Asana).
  • Organizes and implements processes that ensure effective, efficient, and accurate development support.
  • Support and participate in anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion work across the organization.
  • Participate in opportunities for professional development.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary for this position is between $51,000-$54,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Full-time, exempt position, working 40 hours per week
  • Flexible work-from-home options
  • 20 days of PTO (increases with years of employment), 6 paid holidays and a significant holiday break from December 24th through January 1, and the ability to carry over hours during that time period that are worked in the office.
  • Up to three percent matching contribution of annual salary to 403(b) retirement plan after one month of employment
