Climate Generation staff are available to give presentations, facilitate screenings of our Twin Cities-PBS documentary, Minnesota Stories in a Changing Climate, and lead climate change education workshops. We tailor all of our offerings to your specific audience and needs, and encourage you to reach out to us with requests! See below for various ways to engage with us:
What are the root causes of climate change?
How are communities, including yours, being impacted?
What are projected future impacts?
What are best practices for communicating climate change and engaging in solutions?
These are key questions that come up when talking about climate change, and we offer an interactive presentation that encompasses all of them. Climate Generation has over 10 years of experience building climate literacy and action among educators, youth, decision-makers, and the public. Our unique approach to climate change education stems from our founder, Will Steger, whose eyewitness to climate change story has inspired thousands to engage on this issue. Today, we are all eyewitnesses, and we all have a story to tell. Climate Generation’s “Climate Change: Causes, Impacts and Solutions” presentation is an interactive experience that explores root causes, impacts, and solutions as well as our personal stake in the issue. Ultimately, we seek to equip audiences with the understanding to communicate climate change effectively and the resources to take meaningful collective action.
Schedule a presentation at your home, work, school or community organization by completing the formstack at the bottom of the page. Pricing varies based on the venue, desired presentation length, and type of audience.
We all have a story to tell. What is your climate story?
In our warming world, almost everyone recognizes change, even if they don’t recognize it as climate change. When balanced with the science, sharing a memory of a beloved place, changes you have experienced, or your feelings about what is at stake can help make climate change more compelling and difficult to dispute. Stories told from the heart have the ability to touch on people’s emotional intelligence, value systems, and community relationships, and they can also serve as catalyst, with the ability to transform both the audience and the storyteller.
Climate Generation staff offer storytelling workshops to help groups and individuals discover their personal story around climate change, and how it can serve as a powerful tool to inspire others. Workshops include: background on climate change, guided writing prompts, and individualized story coaching. As a follow-up to the workshop, we also support groups in organizing a Storytelling Slam to share their climate stories with a broader audience. If you are interested in setting up a storytelling workshop or slam for your community group, book club or workplace, complete the formstack at the bottom of this page and our staff will follow up with you.
Climate change is affecting our state’s varied regions and residents in different ways, but all Minnesotans have a story to tell. The TPT production Minnesota Stories in a Changing Climate, part of Climate Generation’s Climate Minnesota: Local Stories, Community Solutions project, showcases six of these stories, along with narration from some of the state’s leading climate experts. The full production and the individual story clips are intended to serve as an educational and inspirational resource to build Minnesotans’ awareness of climate impacts and encourage the sharing of climate stories across the state.
