The 23rd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 23) to the UN Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is organized by Fiji and will be hosted at the headquarters of the UNFCCC Secretariat in Bonn, Germany. Fiji has identified several key issue areas of focus for the conference, including climate adaptation finance, effective monitoring of adherence through the rulebook to the Paris Agreeement, the objectives of the Climate Action Agenda. Another emphasis is expected to be the greater role of the private sector, subnational entities, and civil society in holding their countries to their commitments or making commitments of their own.
We are sending a multi-sector delegation of Minnesota leaders to the UN Climate Change Conference in Bonn, Germany from November 6–17. Our eight-member delegation features representation from education, law, philanthropy, youth, elected officials, and indigenous communities.
