Thank you to the 41 donors who contributed $17,842 in honor of our climate change education campaign to meet educators’ current needs for distance learning during #GivingTuesday and #GiveAtHome week in Minnesota. We are so thankful for your continued support, especially in this precarious time. We were also proud to receive GuideStar’s Gold level seal for our accountability, fundraising, and financial practices. You can still support the campaign with a contribution through the end of May.
This month marks the departure of Janet Brown, long time Associate Director, just as we welcome our new Development Director, Denise Fosse. Denise brings over 17 years in development in the nonprofit sector with a passion for fueling transformative work through robust fundraising efforts. I look forward to introducing Denise to many of you in the months ahead.
While working from home, our team continues to provide digital programming with EYEWITNESS workshops and book club discussions; youth action support; and webinars for teachers. Our flagship event of the year, the annual Summer Institute for Climate Change Education, is now a Stay-In-stitute, a virtual professional development opportunity, hosted in collaboration with the NOAA Climate Office and The Wild Center Youth Climate Program. Share the opportunity with an educator you know! Scholarships are available thanks to our Teach Climate Scholarship fund.
