Many environmental issues are debated frequently in the news — but few of them provoke a reaction quite like climate change does. And unfortunately, in the interest of balanced reporting, those who aim to move public discussion away from the facts often get enough airtime to distort the issues and obstruct real solutions. So we’re taking the conversation out of the television and bringing it to the table.
On September 20 we’ll take on the science deniers and look into the industrial and financial interests that motivate them. Environment Minnesota and the Will Steger Foundation have invited University of Saint Thomas Professor John Abraham and Twin Cities journalist Don Shelby, an experienced investigative journalist whose work has earned two George Foster Peabody awards and several Emmy Awards. They will take on this important subject and shed some light on the backgrounds of various climate change deniers and their funders.
Expect a delicious breakfast as always, with a few new items on the menu to help kick off the fall season!
Admission is $15 — which includes breakfast, and a $5 donation to Environment Minnesota.
