Global Warming Education Through Theater

Scott County, MN, has had ongoing activities related to global warming ever since Will Steger visited their community in August 2006.

After listening to Steger’s descriptions of what is happening in the Arctic and Antarctic, the County Environmental Health Manager pulled together an event in which staff from his department collaborated with Climb Theater and the local school. Climb Theater created an in-class interactive program on global warming that was presented in schools throughout Scott County in February of 2007. They distributed “20 Things You Can Do To Stop Global Warming” flyers and copies of An Inconvenient Truth to classrooms. They also donated copies of the film to the schools’ libraries for future use.
