As our COP21 Window Into Paris program approaches, we will be featuring an educator in our delegation each week to share their thoughts on the program and how they plan to incorporate their experience at the UN climate change negotiations into their classrooms.
This week’s featured educator is Lauren Leith, a Physics, Chemistry and Earth Science teacher at the Avalon School in St. Paul, Minnesota. On the evening of Thursday, October 22 from 7-8:30 pm, the Avalon School will be hosting an Open House to introduce guests and supporters to Climate Generation’s Window Into Paris program and several of our Twin Cities-based educators. We hope to see you there!
Excerpt from video: The upcoming COP21 climate talks are important to Lauren and her students because, in her words “I think giving my students hope – because some of them are really worried about the future – is really critical.”
Lauren’s neighborhood paper, the Park Bugle, recently ran an article about her participation in our Window Into Paris program and the COP21 UN climate talks. Read more.
Lauren has set up a personal fundraising page to help cover her travel expenses to Paris; any support would be greatly appreciated: https://www.youcaring.com/lauren-lindelof-leith-443378
