Letter to Climate Change Educators

It’s Earth Month and the time for action is now! No matter where you are in the country or the world, there are sure to be events in your community for you and your students to take part in and if there aren’t- plan some! Some of our favorites this month include the upcoming local and national opportunities to march for science and climate; the opportunity to use Earth Day Network’s toolkit (with some of our resources!) and schedule a teach in; and getting outside and keeping up with the status of spring!

As an educator, you play an important role in the lives of your students. On top of teaching about climate change make sure you take your students out into the world building their understanding for and love for the world around them!

Are you a classroom teacher or non-formal educator interested in training and resources that support the standards? You are invited to our 12th annual Summer Institute for Climate Change Education, where we guide teachers through the challenges you face in teaching about climate change, and help you gain the confidence and competence to bring this relevant topic to today’s youth. Participants will have the opportunity to hear from leading experts from the University of Minnesota on their climate science research, engage with hands-on activities, and learn about how Climate Generation curriculum supports language arts, social studies, and science standards, including the Next Generation Science Standards.
