Climate change education in action

The December edition of Green Schools Catalyst Quarterly, Climate Literacy: Educating with the Future in Mind, puts a spotlight on the urgent need for climate change education and provides case studies of climate change education in action.

We are proud to see Climate Generation’s programs and partners featured prominently throughout the issue with our Director of Programs, Kristen Poppleton, co-authoring the feature article; Natalie Stapert from the Lowell school in D.C. contributing an article detailing our partnership focused on integrating climate change into their Humanities curriculum; and Brad Johnson from the School of Environmental Studies in Apple Valley, MN providing an overview of their history bringing high school students to the UNFCCC’s COPs, often with Climate Generation’s support.

In addition, our #TeachClimate Network co-lead Dr. Bhattacharya details the work she and her team are doing with teacher’s in Nebraska, and Abby Ruskey discusses the amazing work in Washington State which we will be supporting through a webinar series in partnership with NOAA Climate Office.
