7th Annual Summer Institute for Climate Change Education

Summer Institute 2012The pinnacle of our professional development opportunities is our annual Summer Institute for Climate Change Education, which we have held for the last seven years at various locations in the metro area. Each Institute has a unique focus within climate change education and has included prestigious keynote speakers such as Dr. James Hansen, Dr. Naomi Oreskes and Bill McKibben. Each Institute draws approximately 100 educators, the majority of whom are new.

The Will Steger Foundation’s 7th annual Summer Institute for Climate Change Education will enrich educators’ teaching of climate change and help bring climate literacy to any educational setting. Grades 3-12 educators will receive training on and a copy of our revised, interdisciplinary and standards-based Minnesota’s Changing Climate curriculum. Participants will hear from educators who have piloted and adapted this curriculum during the 2011-2012 school year. Speakers include Dr. John Abraham, Dr. Eugenie Scott, Will Steger and more!
